How Do I Meet People?

First Presbyterian Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at FPC

Women’s Groups

Ruth, Rachel, and Lydia Circle’s

First Presbyterian Women’s Groups gives the ladies in our church family special times of interaction. Our women’s groups, located in several locations throughout our community, are times of Bible study, prayer (and, of course, food). These groups provide a refreshing discipleship opportunity for the women in the church. Ruth Circle meets the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 AM Rachel Circle meets the second Thursday of the month at 9:30 AM, and Lydia Circle meets every fourth Thursday of the month at 2:00 PM.

Men’s Group

Accountability among men is an act of integrity. Accountability is designed to protect, encourage, and develop men of all ages. The FPC Men’s group meets the first Saturday of the month at 7:30 AM at Charlotte’s, 402 N Gilbert, Danville.

Primetimers

Once you get past fifty, the fun has just begun. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-50 group of First Presbyterian provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet and enjoy fellowship time. Our Primetimers group meets the third Wednesday of the month for small trips in the area and lunch. Times vary due to trip requirements.

Bible Study Groups

Pastor’s Book Study

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, First Presbyterian Church has small bible or book studies held at the church. The size of the groups vary. The Pastor’s  Bible/Book Study meets on Wednesday’s at 2:00 PM.

Young Adults

College Age and New Edition

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions. Bigger stakes. Serious relationships. And a whole lot more decisions. The young adult group of First Presbyterian Church provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early-career aged young people. FPC offers our young adults grades 12th-college age group, dinner and bible study Friday night from 5:30 PM-9:00 PM. Every third Friday they have movie night at FPC retreat site.
New Edition is a younger fun group that plans fundraisers, sponsors movie nights and much much more.

Knitwits

If you like to knit, or crochet, or do craft projects, you are welcome to join us we meet Tuesdays at 12:30 PM for an hour, except for the second Tuesday of the month. We make scarves, hats, mittens, and other things that are included in the Christmas baskets. We also have a lot of fun relaxing and talking.

Purple Donut Gang

The Purple Donut Gang is an “unorganized” group of men that perform maintenance tasks around the church on Tuesday afternoons at 1:00 PM for an hour or so followed by adjournment to the Charlotte’s for coffee and donuts.  Any man who can drink coffee (could be soda pop), eat donuts, and tell stories or solve the world’s problems is welcome.  Listeners are welcome, we have plenty of talkers.
